I am honored and humbled that Judge Stewart appointed me as your prosecutor during COVID-19. Shiawassee County is near and dear to not only my heart but to generations of my family. Today, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and ask that you support me in our upcoming election.
I’ve been a lawyer for 26 years. I grew up just over the county line in Haslett, Michigan and my grandparents, aunts, uncles and other family members were all residents of our great community. From the earliest of ages we celebrated holidays, family gatherings and get togethers in Shiawassee. I learned the value of education from my uncles whom were teachers at Nellie Reed Elementary and New Lothtop Middle School.
In my career, I have tried numerous jury trial including two that gained national attention where children in our community were victims. I’m proud to say that I helped obtain convictions on those cases and I will not tolerate sex crimes in our community.
I serve on the board of Voices for Children Child Advocacy Center. I value and am an enthusiastic supporter of Shiawassee County Specialty Courts. I have served on numerous occasions as prosecutor for Drug Court and Mental Health Court. I believe I have established a strong relationship with all participants and feel uniquely suited to provide those participants with ongoing support in their quest for recovery. Recently, I was able to be part of a Drug Court graduation and witness the success of participants that I had worked with.
